Here are some Fun Facts from River Days 2007!

More than 700,000 people attended River Days over the six days of the festival

The DTE Energy Parade of Lights featured 37 wonderfully decorated boats with crowds standing six people deep along the RiverWalk to catch the show.

Five music stages – including the EDS Stage, Sprint Stage, Detroit Medical Center Stage and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Stage – featured more than 100 different performances.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert on Friday, June 22 drew an audience of more than 5,000 music lovers.

Concert performances included: Angie Stone, Better than Ezra, Joan Jett, Mark Chestnutt and The Ohio Players. More than 25,000 river concert-goers attended these shows and more.

Pure Michigan Fun on the Water included Jet Ski shows, Coast Guard demonstrations and Diamond Jack boat tours offering waves of water entertainment, with more than 5,000 people taking advantage of the discounted Diamond Jack tour rates.

210 fisherman on 105 boats participated in the bass fishing tournament.

Fun on land including GM Cool Events, the HAP Ultimate Air Dog jumping competitions, the Little Caesars Discovery Zone, MEDC Green Days, carnival rides, local and national music acts and the River Carousel.

With 80 helicopter rides a day, more than 1,000 people took to the skies over Detroit to enjoy the festival from the air.

The Pooch-a-Palooza Pet Walk attracted 200 dogs, who brought along their owners to this fun event.

The Rock Financial Cooling Station allowed everyone a chance to beat the heat in the GM Wintergarden.

Basketball clinics and free throw tournaments proved a big hit with nearly 1,000 people participating in the Dave Bing free throw tournament.

Tons of great Detroit food was on display from some of the area’s best and most unique restaurants.
